Champagne Sunset Sail
Sunset Sails in Newport are spectacular! In fact there is no better place than being on the water, aboard one of our boats, to see the sun go down. On sunset cruises the sky is often streaked with color, including fiery reds and oranges around the golden sun. While sometimes it’s overcast and there is no disappearing burning red fireball, sunset cruises are always enjoyable. As one of our crew dryly pointed out, sunset is a time of day, not a meteorological event.
You’ll get great views of Fort Adams, the Pell Bridge, see Hammersmith Farm, Clingstone, lighthouses and yachts from all over the world. As the sun goes down, the bridge’s necklace lighting starts to twinkle.
Your captain and crew will point out the sights and provide light, informative commentary.
Enjoy complimentary champagne and beer aboard Aquidneck and Sightsailer* (or book a Private Charter to enjoy sunset with just your group and BYOB).
On Sunset cruises, Newport’s southwesterly breezes tend to moderate and sometimes die toward dusk. Nevertheless, the harbor is alive with activity and Newport’s waterfront looks even more spectacular in the early evening.
Sightsailing is located on Bowen’s Wharf, home to some of the best restaurants in Newport. Guests often take a sunset sail and set off for dinner upon return to the dock.
Sunset cruises are a great way to wrap up your day.
*Although complimentary champagne and beer are included in your ticket price this is not a booze cruise. We will serve a couple of rounds but we aim to create a peaceful, relaxing, safe and friendly atmosphere for all of our guests to enjoy.
