Our Fleet

Three Unique Sailing Vessels Departing Daily from Newport's Bowen's Wharf

Sightsailing of Newport Fleet

Aquidneck

Our Flagship Schooner

Aquidneck is named after Aquidneck Island, the island on which Newport is located! She is the flagship of our fleet, a 80′ classic schooner, (a vessel with two or more masts with the foremast being shorter than the mainmast), with the most space and the smoothest ride of any vessel we sail.

Aquidneck is fun to sail on!  Help hoist the sails, take a turn at the wheel or sit back and relax! With ample open deck space, plenty of comfortable seating, space to lounge, and room to move around freely, she’s built for comfort, whether you’re standing at the rail watching Fort Adams pass by or sitting with a drink as the sails fill.

She’s the most stable boat in our fleet, which makes her a good fit for first-time sailors, families with kids, and anyone who prefers a steady ride. Boarding is easy, a set of stairs with a handrail, no ladders or climbing required.

Highlights:

  • Offers daily public Morning Mimosa, Day Sails, Champagne Sunset Sails and Private Charters.
  • Spacious open deck with plenty of comfortable seating throughout.
  • The most stable vessel in our fleet — smooth sailing even for guests new to the water.
  • Easy boarding from the dock via stairs with a handrail, accessible for most mobility levels.

Sightsailer

A Fast, Fun Ride for Up to 13 Guests. Public Sails & Private Charters.

Sightsailer is a 46-foot sloop that splits the difference between Aquidneck’s size and Starlight’s intimacy. She’s quick, responsive, and feels like a real sailboat under your feet — you’ll hear the water along the hull and feel the boat heel when the wind picks up. Her large sail plan means she moves well even on lighter wind days.

The fully cushioned cockpit keeps things comfortable, and there’s a cockpit table where you can spread out snacks and drinks. Sightsailer carries up to 13 guests, which makes her a good match for mid-sized groups, families, and anyone who wants more of an active sailing feel without being on a big boat.

Highlights:

  • A 46-foot sloop with a large sail plan — fast and responsive on the water.

  • Fully cushioned cockpit seating with a cockpit table for food and drinks.

  • Carries up to 13 guests, though she sails just as well with smaller groups of 2 to 6.

  • Onboard iPod/Bluetooth stereo, igloo cooler, and blankets and rain gear included.

Starlight

Your Own Private Yacht for 2-6 guests. Private Charters.

Starlight is a 34-foot O’Day sloop and the most personal way to sail Newport. With just two to six guests and your own captain, a sail on Starlight feels like borrowing a friend’s boat for the afternoon — except the friend knows every cove, lighthouse, and landmark on Narragansett Bay.

She sails the longest route in our fleet at two hours, covering more water than either Aquidneck or Sightsailer. Your captain can take you past the Ocean Drive estates, through Newport Harbor, or into Brenton and Mackerel Cove for views you won’t get anywhere else. There’s a stereo, a cooler, blankets for cooler evenings, and a cabin below deck. Take the wheel if you want a hands-on experience, or just sit on the custom stern perch seats and watch the shoreline go by.

Highlights:

  • Cozy cockpit with custom stern perch seats, a spacious deck, and a cabin below.

  • Onboard cooler, stereo, blankets, and jackets — bring a small picnic and you’re set.

  • Take the helm for a casual sailing lesson or sit back and let your captain handle everything.
