Sunset Sails in Newport, RI are stunning. Sunset Sails with Champagne?! Can you imagine anything better?  Now we’re talking! One of the questions we field on an almost daily basis is “How many Sunset Sails do you do a day?” This question always makes us pause and think about potentially offering the wry reply “Well since the sun sets only once a day, we only have one Sunset ail”. However, since we run three sailboats, we often have three sunset sails a day. And perhaps, this is what people are asking.

Choose your Sunset Sail Vessel

In a nutshell, we offer sunset cruises with complimentary champagne and beer aboard our 80′ Schooner Aquidneck every evening from May through October. Aquidneck is our flagship and largest boat offering the most room to get up, socialize, take spectacular pictures and soak in Newport’s fabulous views. She offers the smoothest ride and is the most stable. Of course, she also takes the largest number of people but so what? The more, the merrier!

Next up we have Sightsailer, our light, nimble sloop that sails with up to 13 guests. She offers daily sunset cruises. Want something really exclusive and private?  Consider Starlight, our smallest vessel, which takes just your party,  2-6 guests for a private Sunset Sail.

Dress appropriately for an evening on the water!

Now, a few things to note about our sunset sails:  We recommend you bring a jacket in the spring and fall and perhaps a sweatshirt or something to wear on top, even in the summer. It’s always cooler on the water, especially once the sun starts to set. We have blankets on board all the boats however dressing warmly will make the trip more enjoyable and comfortable. Cold beer and chilled champagne taste better when you’re not freezing. Bring a jacket and this won’t happen.

Next, realize that none of our boats offer “booze cruises”. We serve a few rounds but we aim to create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for all to enjoy. We serve complimentary champagne and beer on Aquidneck and Sightsailer on all of our sunset cruises. Of course, we’re not doling out Moet or Veuve Cliquot, but our champagne is the same as what they pour as the house champagne at Castle Hill which is good enough for us!

We’re also the only sailing company that will allow you to BYOB, so you may bring a bottle of your favorite wine or a six-pack of your preferred beer. Note that we don’t allow cases of beer, roll-on coolers, or hard alcohol.

We’re the oldest sailing company on the wharf and offer more choices for Sunset Sails than any other outfitter. Our crews and sailboats are great!
