How to Book a Private Charter

How to Book a Private Charter

Celebrating a special occasion? Organizing a company outing? Looking for a fun day out on the water with your family? We have a range of boats that will fit your private charter needs. Chartering a sailboat allows for a private, personalized outing in beautiful Newport. Guests may help raise sails, take the wheel and sail, or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.

Booking a private charter is easy. First, decide on the size of your group. If your party is between 2 to 6 people, you’d charter Starlight, our O’Day 34. If you’re between 7 and 13 guests, we suggest you charter Sightsailer which sails with a maximum of 13.  For a group ranging from 14 to 49 guests, we offer Aquidneck. Our boats accommodate anywhere from 2 to 49 guests, however if your group is larger, we will coordinate an outing for up to 150 guests by working with our contacts and other boats in Newport. Food and drink may be easily ordered and delivered to any boats in our fleet.

Next, choose a date and one of our scheduled departure times. (See each boat’s schedule in their respective section of the website under “Our Fleet”). Private charters may be booked at any time year-round.

For Starlight and Sightsailer, payment in full is due at the time of booking. To book private charters on either of these boats, call us at (401) 619-0202.

For Aquidneck, call John Hirschler at (401) 862-4718. We will send you a charter agreement to review. If you’d like to lock in the date and time, please sign the agreement and send it back to us within 10 days of receipt of the email, along with a required deposit. The remaining balance is due 10 days prior to departure.

If need be, you can cancel charters and receive a full refund provided you notify us at least 10 days before your scheduled sail. In the event of bad weather, we’ll either give you a full refund or reschedule your sail. View our weather policy in our FAQ.

For detailed information including videos, photo galleries and descriptions, visit each boat’s respective page in Our Fleet.

Happy sailing!
